Everybody remembers the old traditional games of 'Snakes and Ladders' and 'Ludo', which we played as children with our own parents and grandparents. These classic family favourites have been given an exciting pirate twist on this sturdy, double-sided playing board.
In the 'Snakes and Ladders' game, the jolly pirates use rope ladders to help them take shortcuts to the big treasure chest and win the game. But they have to look out for the slippery sea snakes, which send them sliding back down the board! On the reverse side of the board is the game of 'Ludo', also with a pirate twist. Players each have counters, and must try to be the first to get all their counters to their special pirate treasure in the middle of the board. But they must watch out - if another player lands on the same square as you, you will be sent right back to the start!
Both games involve a lot of luck, and 'Ludo' can also include a certain amount of strategy, so children have to learn to be patient when the game isn't going their way. Particularly suited to children aged 5 to 9, these classic games have stood the test of time and are sure to be popular favourites for the whole family.
